Panda Mei

For the first time ever, guests can witness the full transformation of Mei into her majestic red panda form. During previous Lunar New Year celebrations, Mei greeted guests in her half-transformed human form alongside her mother. It's a heartwarming sight, but this year, get ready for the full spectacle!
Fun Fact: Mei's transformation into a giant red panda is inspired by the emotional journey of Meilin Lee in the movie Turning Red. When Meilin experiences strong emotions, she, too, turns into a giant red panda!
Horace Horsecollar
Location: Grizzly Peak
One of Disney's earliest characters, Horace Horsecollar first appeared in 1929 as Mickey's sidekick in early black-and-white shorts. While he was initially a supporting character, he later starred in iconic cartoons like The Beach Party (1931) and Camping Out (1934). In recent years, he's made a comeback in Mickey Mouse shorts and Mickey and the Roadster Racers. For this special meet and greet, Horace is dressed in a stunning Chinese-style red tunic with gold trim and cloud designs, complete with a jade necklace, symbolizing luck, protection, and prosperity.
Mickey & Minnie
Location: Near Paradise Garden Grill
Mickey and Minnie are embracing the Lunar New Year with Korean-inspired outfits. Mickey dons a blue baeja and baji, while Minnie wears a striped jeogori and a pink chima, both accompanied by traditional Korean shoes. It's a charming sight that adds a touch of Korean culture to the Disney magic.
Donald & Daisy
Location: Grizzly Peak
Donald and Daisy are celebrating in style with Chinese-inspired hanfu outfits, similar to Horace's costume. Both are dressed in red, featuring gold metallic and cloud embroidery, as well as pankou knot closures. Daisy adds a touch of elegance with a flower on her bow. They meet guests on alternating days with Goofy and Clarabelle, with Daisy and Donald greeting guests on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
Goofy & Clarabelle
Location: Grizzly Peak
Goofy and Clarabelle are spreading joy with Vietnamese-inspired aó dài outfits. Goofy's is green with ancient coin motifs, while Clarabelle's is pink, adorned with a jade bracelet. They meet guests on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, offering a delightful break from the usual routine. They meet together for their first two sets and then switch off individually for the rest of the day.
Lunar New Year 2026
The Lunar New Year festivities at Disney California Adventure Park run from January 23 to February 22, 2026. This year, the Year of the Horse is celebrated with a spectacular tribute to Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese cultures.
