Nottingham Forest has reportedly entered the competition to secure the signing of former Chelsea and Aston Villa striker Tammy Abraham, as their urgent search for a goal scorer intensifies.
The situation has become quite pressing for the Reds, especially following injuries to key players like Chris Wood and the decision to loan Arnaud Kalimuendo to Eintracht Frankfurt, alongside the fact that Taiwo Awoniyi seems to be out of favor with the coaching staff. This has placed a significant burden on Igor Jesus to carry the attacking responsibilities for the team.
At 28 years old, Abraham is currently facing challenges at Beşiktaş, where he is on loan from AS Roma. Although Aston Villa has emerged as a potential destination for him in recent discussions, Nottingham Forest is eager to persuade the talented forward to consider them instead.
According to Turkish journalist Ertan Süzgün, who shared updates on X, "Nottingham Forest has officially entered the race for Tammy Abraham! The club has signaled that they are willing to meet his personal demands." However, he notes that "Abraham's top choice for a possible return to English football remains Aston Villa."
Adding to the conversation, Tom Collomosse from the Daily Mail reported on X that while Nottingham Forest has shown interest in Tammy Abraham, if Beşiktaş permits his departure, the striker clearly prefers a move back to Aston Villa at this point in time.
Reports from Turkey indicate that Beşiktaş is keen to capitalize on their investment in Abraham, who they have on loan. They are obligated to buy the player for €13 million (£11.3 million) if specific conditions are met but are also rumored to be willing to expedite this purchase and subsequently sell him for around €20 million (£17.3 million).
In addition to Abraham, Forest's management is exploring various other options to bolster their striking options. They have been linked with Norwich City's Josh Sargent, Fenerbahce's Youssef En-Nesyri, Evan Ferguson from Brighton and Hove Albion, Jorgen Strand Larsen of Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Mehdi Taremi from Olympiacos. Manager Sean Dyche has reported positive communication with owner Evangelos Marinakis and other key figures, including global head of football Edu and global technical director George Syrianos, regarding recruitment efforts.
